How is this different from a normal Black & White photo?
Standard B&W photos (grayscale) contain thousands of shades of gray. A binary image contains only two: 100% black and 100% white.
What happens to the colors in my image?
We first convert the colors to their luminance (brightness) values, then apply the threshold. Bright colors become white, dark colors become black.
Is the quality lost during conversion?
